OLEAN — Southern Tier Health Care System Inc., in collaboration with CASA-Trinity, has expanded healthcare accessibility in the area with the addition of a telehealth room at Interfaith Caregivers’ Medical Equipment Loan Center.
The telehealth rooms offer a private and discreet space equipped with the necessary technology for telehealth sessions, providing a practical alternative for local residents seeking healthcare services.
Julie Hall, executive director at Interfaith Caregivers, 315 W. State St., expressed her excitement about hosting a telehealth room.
“We are thrilled to partner with STHCS and CASA-Trinity in providing this essential service to our community,” she said. “The telehealth room at our Medical Equipment Loan Center will contribute to the well-being of individuals by offering a private and technology-equipped space for telehealth sessions.”
Donna Kahm, president and CEO of STHCS, emphasizes the importance of the initiative.
“Expanding our telehealth room network allows us to cater to a broader audience, ensuring that healthcare services are accessible to all,” she said. “At STHCS, we are committed to providing these valuable resources to our community.”
The existing telehealth room locations include Healthy Community Alliance of Gowanda, Randolph Free Library, Wide Awake Club Library of Fillmore, Whitesville Public Library, Friendship Free Library and Universal Primary Care of Olean.
The telehealth rooms are available for all types of telehealth appointments, from routine well visits to mental health counseling. Individuals interested in utilizing the telehealth rooms can reserve a private room at no cost, complete with a computer and internet access.
